JANUARY 31, 2010:   The first month of the New Year started off with enough market activity, news developments and questions to keep investors’ focus even after a quiet holiday season. The U.S. economy expanded in the 4th quarter of 2009 at the fastest pace in six years as factories pumped up assembly lines and the quarter saw a swing from steep to modest inventory liquidation.  more >

 

DECEMBER 31, 2009:   The month of December brings the year of 2009 to a quiet close as the fixed income market continues to focus on the transition from recovery to stabilization, and potentially expansion.  The Treasury in the final weeks of the year provided a combined $29.26 million in capital to ten small banks across the country. more >

 

NOVEMBER 30, 2009:   The details from the FOMC meeting on November 4th found the committee reiterating the plan to complete the Fed’s shift to drain the market liquidity created over the past year and to outline its economic forecast.  This revised forecast contains a positive GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2009 and a growth range of 2.5% to 3.5% in 2010 (2010 GDP; 2.6% median of 63 economists surveyed by Bloomberg). more >
